COMING UP ON FRIDAY 1ST MARCH
WORLD DAY OF PRAYER SERVICE
WHEN: 10AM, FRIDAY 1ST MARCH
WHERE: ST SAVIOUR’S CATHEDRAL, GOULBURN
MORNING TEA AFTER SERVICE
World Day of Prayer is held on the first Friday in March each year across the world, in over 170 countries. World Day of Prayer which had its beginnings in the late 1800’s is about praying with, rather than for, our sisters of other races and nations. It is an ecumenical service that each denomination takes turns to host.
This year the service will be held at St Saviour's Anglican Cathedral, Goulburn on Friday 1st March at 10am followed by a morning tea.
The focus of prayer for World Day of Prayer moves to a different country each year. This year it is on Slovenia, a central European country surrounded by Italy to the west, Austria to the north, Hungary to the north-east, Croatia to the south and with an Adriatic Sea coastline.
The message is “Come – Everything is Ready” from Luke 14:15-24
